The Holidays

This is a poem I wrote on November 24, 2008. It's a poem about the holiday season that happens during the month of December.


The holidays are coming
Excitement's in the air
Along with the sounds and the sights
And all the holiday lights


Children try to figure out
The presents that they'll get
It's all so bright this time of year
Makes the children want to cheer


Parents look at their checkbooks
And they let out a groan
But they'll do what they have to do
To make kids' wishes come true


But at the end of the day
They know what's important
They know it's a time for giving
And time for new beginnings
