This is a poem I wrote on June 7, 2010. I wrote it in the wake of receiving some bad news. Getting this bad news affected me so much that I had to sit down and write a poem about it.
I got the news today and it made me feel numb
I just wish that it hadn't come
Even though it wasn't totally unexpected news
I still wish that it wasn't true
And I spend my time mulling it over in my mind
But there's no peace that I can find
And I find myself hoping that this is all a nightmare
Because it's more than I can bear
