Gone Way Too Soon

This is a poem I wrote on April 26, 2009 after learning that a little boy I knew at church had died. I dedicate this poem to the families, loved ones, and friends of children who have died.


When you were born
And came into this world
We all thought
We'd get to see you grow old
But that was not meant to be


Your life was cut way too short
And now all that's left behind
Is unfulfilled potential
Sometimes it seems so unfair
That you're gone, but we're still here


You're gone way too soon
But may God enfold you
In His love
And someday we will see you again
In Heaven
