This is a poem I wrote on May 2, 2011, and it's from the point of view of a speaker witnessing a major historic event of their time.
Right now, history is in the making
And I'm here to be part of it
It's a day I thought would never come
It seems the war has been won
So maybe once again we can unite
And work at healing our divides
I really want to hope for the best
Only time will tell the rest
