This is a poem I wrote on April 13, 2009, and it's about being caught off-guard by a surprising event.
It's unbelievable
I've been caught off-guard
It feels as if
The rug's been pulled out
From under me
And I'm falling
Flat on my face
I'm confused
I'm angry
I want to scream
But screaming won't help
So I have to get up
And dust myself off
And figure out
What I'm going to do
