No Plans for the Night

This is a poem I wrote on February 21, 2011, and it's from the point of view of a speaker who has reached the end of a long day and has no plans for the night.

I can hear the rain against the window
As the sun in the sky sinks so low
Another day draws to a close
And what the night may bring, who knows?

So I don't have any plans for tonight
But in the end, I think that it's all right
There's not much to do, anyway
Except wait for a brand new day
