One Year Later

This is a poem I wrote on July 27, 2009. It's a poem I wrote on the one-year anniversary of the death of two people we knew.


One year has passed, one year has gone
One year later, the memories still remain strong
One year later, the ache remains
One year later, and nothing has stayed the same


And here I am in this same place
It's one year later, and I can still see your face
And why you left, I'll never know
Only God understands why you had to go
