This is a poem I originally wrote back in the 1990s. When I re-read the poem a few years back, I wasn't happy with how it had turned out. I wrote this version of the poem on November 25, 2009, and it's about how the tables end up turning on someone.
You spent your life playing the fool
Thinking that somehow, this made you cool
But now you find that's not true
And now the joke's on you
And you liked to put others down
Thinking it made you some kind of clown
Others now do it to you
So now the joke's on you
