This is a poem I wrote on August 24, 2009. It's a poem about realizing you have to say goodbye, but not understanding why.
The time has almost come
For us to go our separate ways
And now I find I have to say
Another goodbye before you are gone
The time has almost come
To smile and shake your hand
And then try to understand
Why you have to go and leave me behind
