This Thing Called Life

This is a poem I wrote in the early-to-mid 2000s. It's a poem asking someone to reconsider their actions and the motivations for their actions.


I never thought you'd stoop so low
Just to boost your ego
But does it really matter
What rung you are on the ladder?
Just get back to this thing called life


Don't keep it bottled up inside
But please push your pride aside
You may have cast the first stone
But leave the argument alone
Just get back to this thing called life


You want to get things your own way
No matter what others say
But you need to learn sometime
That one day you'll be next in line
Just get back to this thing called life
