Unexpected

This is a poem I wrote on January 19, 2009. It's from the point of view of someone who had something very unexpected happen in their life.


I can't believe this happened
It came from out of the blue
And without any warning
My entire world had changed


And there's nothing I can do
To turn back the hands of time
And to change everything back
To the way they used to be


And now I must take some time
To grieve for what has been lost
But I must try to move on
And keep going with my life
