This is a poem I wrote back in the early 1990s, and it's about staying true to yourself.
People pressure you
To be part of the crowd
But you don't have to give in to the pressure
Preserve your individuality
Just be yourself
You are somebody
Special on the inside
But don't let others tell you something different
And only you know what you should be like
Just be yourself
You control yourself
You mold your own image
But don't let anyone try to break your mold
Look inside yourself and see why you are
Just be yourself
