The Ties of Love

I originally wrote this poem in the 1990s. When I re-read this poem a few years back, I wasn't happy with how it had turned out. I wrote this version of the poem on December 14, 2009, and it's about how love ties a couple together.


Since we said "I do"
We founded our ties of love
This ring on my finger is a symbol
And you know that this is true


And over the years
Our ties of love are stronger
Had children and started a family
This is all so crystal clear


And our ties will grow
Even stronger over time
Until we come to the end of our days
This is something that I know
