This is a poem I wrote on January 24, 2011, and it's from the point of view of a speaker who is getting older and realizing how time is slipping by them.
Time keeps slipping away so fast
It's so hard to make the moments last
And time goes by faster as the years wear on
Before you know it, the time will be gone
I'd like to stop the hands of time
And to make sure this moment is mine
Just what I wouldn't give to take it easy
And to have some time that is just for me
