Credit Card

This is a poem I wrote on April 14, 2008. It's a poem about the dangers of using credit cards.

A rectangular piece of plastic
Sits in my wallet, waiting to tempt me
I see something that I want
But I know I don't have the money
But I want it
And I want it right away

So I pull out that piece of plastic
To make my purchase and go on my way
I know I will regret this
And have a case of Buyer's Remorse
Ka-ching! Ka-ching!
But I buy it anyway

Next time the bill comes in the mail
I end up getting a nasty surprise
Because I made that purchase
I ended up maxing out my card
Oh, no! Oh, no!
How am I going to pay?
