This is a poem I wrote on December 27, 2010. It's a poem where the speaker is happy to see the new year coming to an end, and hoping for a better year the next year.
The lights of the season are growing dim
And soon, a new year will begin
It's time to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new
And I hope next year is better than the one that's through
This year's been so full of heartache and strife
And I just want to live my life
So next year, I want to minimize the suffering and pain
And I hope I don't have to go through this all again
