The Coming Solstice

This is a poem I wrote on December 6, 2010. It was a poem I wrote during the time that was approaching the Winter Solstice in 2010. In a lot of ways, I guess you could say that this fits in with the various poems I've been inspired to write by the seasons. Winter isn't one of my favorite seasons, as you can see when you read this poem.

A bitter, cold wind blows
And it chills me to the bone
The sky above is dark
They're all signs that winter is near

The shortest day is near
As the nights just grow longer
I wait for this to end
So this time of year can just pass
