Dream of Brotherhood

This is a poem I wrote on January 17, 2011. It talks about the dream of achieving world peace. I remember writing this poem on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and being inspired by his "I Have a Dream" speech. It just seemed an appropriate day to write something like this.


Once upon a time, there was a dream
And it revolved around a theme
Of peace, love, and brotherhood
And wishing that the world understood


And yet, the dream hasn't quite come true
There's still some work we need to do
But I hope that things will change
And that the dream will come true someday
