This is a poem I wrote on January 10, 2011. It's from the point of view of a speaker who's ready for winter to end and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring, It's sad that I was already feeling this way before the middle of January!
It's so cold where I am
My hands and fingers are frozen to the bone
Wishing for some warmth to heat things up
I don't know how much more I can take
And it's so dark today
I find myself wishing the sun would come out
I just want the cold and dark to end
And spring just can't get here soon enough
