This is a poem I wrote on February 15, 2010. It's about feeling a loss after having to say goodbye.
It's hard to believe that you are gone
Especially since you had been here so long
While I knew that this would come someday
I had hoped this time could be delayed
I wish we had a little more time
And I wish we didn't have to say goodbye
Now I'll hold on to the memories
Of all the times that you spent with me
