This started out as lyrics I wrote in the early 1990s. When I reread this a few years back, I wasn't happy with how it had turned out. I re-worked this into a poem on June 8, 2009. It's about looking back at a love that came to an end.
It happened so long ago
But it feels like yesterday
I wonder why you had to go
And bring our love to an end
It remains a mystery
Why we are not together
I wish it ended differently
When we came to our love's end
I wish we could still be friends
After all we had been through
But you decided at love's end
The time was right for goodbye
