This started out as lyrics that I wrote in the early 1990s. A few years back, I decided to re-work those lyrics into a poem. I wrote this poem on June 29, 2009, and it's about somebody wanting to be there for a friend through both the good times and the bad times.
Let me know when you are feeling pain
Let me know when it drives you insane
Let me know what it is you feel
Let me know when it seems unreal
Let me know when you are feeling sad
Let me know when life just feels bad
Let me know you need an ear to lend
And let me know when you need a friend
