Broken Hearts

This is a poem I wrote on December 26, 2008. It's from the point of view of a speaker wondering what they can do to help others who are in need.


See the forlorn-looking faces
Of people trying to live day to day
Without money, without food, without hope
And wonder what you can do
To mend their broken hearts and their broken lives
It makes you realize just how lucky you are
And even though your own heart might be broken
It is still filled with hope and love
Count your blessings and try to
Mend as many broken hearts as you can
