This originally was lyrics I wrote with my sister in the mid-1980s, and I used the title a few years later to write a poem in the 1990s. When I re-read the poem a few years ago, I wasn't happy with how it hard turned out. I wrote this version of the poem on April 20, 2009, and it's a poem about how a bride feels as she walks down the aisle.
As I walk down the aisle
Every step draws me closer to you
We share nervous smiles
As the room seems to disappear
When I reach you
I look into your face
And I can see forever
In your eyes
