This is a poem I wrote back in the mid-1990s, and I want to say it was in 1996. It's about encouraging someone to follow their dreams.
When everything seems hopeless
When obstacles seem to stand in your way
That's when you need to dare to dream
And find a way to make it happen
When it seems everyone is telling you no
And that you aren't able to accomplish something
That's when you need to dare to dream
And show the doubters that they are mistaken
After all, if it wasn't for the dreamers
Life as we know it wouldn't exist
All the progress we have made as a society
Couldn't have happened without someone daring to dream
