This is a poem I wrote on April 25, 2011. It's from the point of view of a speaker who wants to get away from the darkness they feel in their life, and to find the light of hope. This poem mined feelings from my past from back when I was a teenager. Fortunately, I don't feel this way anymore.
Darkness seems to hang in the air
And it feels like it's everywhere
No matter how much I try to run
I just can't seem to find the sun
Oh, how I long to see the light
And to find my way out of this night
Eventually, this all has to end
I hope there's light around the bend
